St. Simons Lighthouse
While listening to Juan Luis Guerra's "El Farolito" I realized that in my whole life I haven't actually seen many lighthouses. Other than Columbus Lighthouse in Santo Domingo, (which is more a monument to Columbus than an actual lighthouse) I have only seen one. I remembered a very beautiful place I went to last year on the southern coast of Georgia that has a lighthouse. And although the song is not actually about lighthouses, I couldn't help to think about that beautiful place called the Golden Isles. Where you can find that lighthouse beautifully built as if it were part of its natural surroundings. With its palm trees, beaches, beautiful houses, and nice people, it reminded me a little of D.R. Hopefully, if things go the way I want them to, I will live for a few months right by that enchanting place and beautiful Farolito. I cross my fingers.
